In The Band
We provide high quality music education programming for students in underserved communities throughout Los Angeles. By prioritizing hands-on learning and a highly adaptable approach to programming, we give students the opportunity to experience collaborative music-making on their own terms. Our work is supported by generous donors, grants, and our program partners.
Our Mission
In The Band is a 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering the youth of Los Angeles and beyond through access to music education and mentoring in community centers, schools and online.
In The Band was founded in 2002 to fulfill the need for an affordable and culturally relevant solution to cuts in funding for music education in public schools.
In the Band students work together to unlock their creativity and build self-esteem through the mentorship of professional musicians.
In The Band programs create a lifelong interest in and understanding of music, one band at a time!
